    The updated North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria (OOSC) from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) was released in December. A majority of CVSA’s Class I members need to support changes to the OOSC for them to take effect.

Hino Trucks will offer an electric version of their M- and L- Series medium-duty trucks branded Me Series and Le Series available in 2024. Hino Trucks will begin production of these new vehicles integrating SEA Electric’s SEA-Drive® power system.

The focus is on maximizing uptime by enabling routine software updates and parameter setting changes to occur while the truck is being loaded or the driver is taking a break, which can decrease unnecessary stops at the dealership and keep trucks running efficiently.

    In an apparent acknowledgment that deadlines for its Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation are unrealistic, the California Air Resources Board is proposing modifications of the new rules to address infrastructure delays and the unavailability of zero-emission trucks. Exemptions would be made possible for fleets that meet certain criteria.
